Hair Typing: What Kind Do You Have





When it comes to distinguishing a particular hair type, many people think in regards to the pattern of their hair (i.e. straight, curly, etc.) when in actuality, hair typing is in regards to the build and structure of your hair.

While genes are likely to be involved in determining these traits, not much is known about which ones are exactly involved, so your hair structure plays a big part in establishing the type of hair you have along with the way you care and treat it.

Research shows there are four main types of hair known as normal, oily, dry, and combination hair.



Normal Hair

Is the ideal hair type for most of us. It has shine to it yet not greasy or dry...



Dry Hair

Is hair without enough moisture or oil to maintain its natural sheen and texture...



Oily Hair

Also referred to as greasy hair has a limp look to it. It looks good a day or so after washing...



Combination Hair

Combination hair is a mixture of both greasy hair and dry hair both at the same time....
